About Ollie's Place

Ollie's Place opened its doors in 2003 to provide an adoption center where people could come and meet wonderful adoptable cats in a relaxed, open setting. Founded by Mighty Mutts, a no-kill, not-for-profit cat and dog rescue organization, Ollie's Place is committed to the rescue, care and adoption of homeless cats in New York City.

The majority of our cats reside on the second floor in their "living room," where they are free to play and meet potential adopters. They are cared for by volunteers until they find their forever homes.

On our main floor we have a range of pet supplies available, the sale of which helps support our ongoing rescue efforts. In our big front window, you can spy some very special cats looking out at you - will you be the one to make their dreams come true and give them a forever home of their own?

Our Philosophy

Ollie's Place is a non-profit, no-kill animal rescue organization whose ultimate goal is a permanent loving home for every adoptable animal.

An animal's life, both physically and emotionally is precious. They develop strong feelings for humans, they bond quickly and are heartbroken when rejected, returned to a shelter, or worse - turned out on the street. Too often people make a split decision to adopt a pet, and that animal will have to live with that person's decision for the rest of their lives. So when you see that pet who looks really cute, and you just can't wait to take him or her home, think first about how much he or she may have already suffered in life. Make sure that you adopt a pet for the right reasons.

Ollie's Place operates as a subsidiary of Mighty Mutts, a no-kill, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Together we have rescued thousands of animals over the past twelve years.
